Description
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is seeking a Transplant Hepatologist to join our nationally recognized liver transplant program. This faculty position offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional patient care while contributing to education, research, and the continued advancement of one of the nation's premier liver transplant programs.
Nebraska Medicine, our clinical partner, is home to one of the country's first liver transplant programs. Performing liver transplants since 1985, the program has earned international recognition, and a nationwide referral base. Our hepatology team comprises of 5 transplant hepatologists, and 4 hepatology APPs.
Opportunity Highlights
- Join a nationally recognized high-volume liver transplant program (>150 deceased-donor liver transplants per year) with an established reputation for clinical excellence
- Collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team caring for living donors, transplant candidates, and transplant recipients
- Growing transplant oncology program, with expertise in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, neuroendocrine, and colorectal cancer with liver metastasis and transplantation
- Teach and mentor fellows through a fully accredited Transplant Hepatology Fellowship Program
- Participate in clinical research and scholarly activities within an academic medical center
- Expand access to care through regional outreach opportunities in Iowa and South Dakota

Requirements
Qualifications
- MD, DO, or equivalent degree
- Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology
- Fellowship training or expertise in transplant hepatology
