Are you an elite corporate development or investment banking professional with a mastery of growth strategies, cross-border transactions, and corporate transformation?

We are seeking a Manager Strategic & M&A to spearhead our bank's strategic growth initiatives. This is a critical leadership role designed for an autonomous builder who can establish a department from scratch, evaluate high-value investment opportunities, and seamlessly execute complex deals from assessment through post-acquisition integration.

The Role

As the Strategic Manager & M&A, you will be the primary architect of our bank's regional and international growth footprint. Operating from our hub in Bahrain, you will lead the establishment of our brand-new Strategic function, taking full responsibility for developing the department's framework, policies, procedures, and governance structure. You will serve as a vital liaison between Executive Management, the Board, internal risk teams, and external regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Function Architecture: Establish, build, and lead the bank's Strategic Expansion & M&A function, including the development of the department's framework, policies, procedures, governance structure, and all related operating requirements.
2. Deal Execution & M&A: Identify and evaluate acquisition and investment opportunities aligned with the bank's strategic objectives, overseeing potential M&A activities from initial assessment through to execution.
3. Post-Acquisition Integration: Oversee post-acquisition integration initiatives across the bank to effectively unlock synergies, mitigate organizational friction, and drive value accretion.
4. Cross-Border Expansion: Support the bank's international strategic expansion initiatives, leading close coordination with relevant regional regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
5. Corporate Strategy & Board Reporting: Support corporate strategy development, market and competitor analysis, and the preparation of high-level strategic materials for Executive Management and the Board.
6. Stakeholder Management: Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders across business, finance, risk, compliance, and legal functions, while managing elite relationships with external advisors, regulators, and strategic partners.

Qualifications

1. Experience: Minimum of 8 years of dedicated experience in Corporate Development, M&A, Investment Banking, or Strategy Consulting, specifically within the financial services or banking sector.
2. Strategic Mastery: Proven track record of identifying, evaluating, and executing complex corporate transactions and large-scale transformation initiatives.
3. Integration Expertise: Demonstrated experience in managing post-merger integration frameworks to maximize commercial synergies.
4. Education & Certification: A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Advanced credentials such as an MBA or CFA charter are highly preferred.
5. Language: Professional fluency in English and Arabic is essential for navigating regional transactions and coordinating with regional regulatory authorities.
