Role
The role involves working for Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, a global fund administrator, specializing in complex hedge funds and alternative asset investments. The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to problem solve in a dynamic, fast-paced and demanding environment. This individual will have a strong technical background and experience working on various RISK intitaives across the Middle Office teams. The candidate will work under supervision and in a team environment performing requirements gathering, process analysis, documentation and reporting/ visualization.
Principal Responsibilities
Core
- Provide risk oversight and advice to the business units
- To safeguard business operations and client interests.
- Ability to identify control gaps and successfully interpret regulatory guidance.
- Communicate with senior management and risk and controls team.
- Collaboration with risk partners and business unit partners to drive process improvement.
- Plan/Setup meetings with key stakeholders (Business, Risk, Compliance, IT), manage the meetings through a structured agenda and document discussions
- Develop action plans for resolution of outstanding issues
- Engage with teams for process updates and disseminate the same to the larger team
- Should be capable of adding and reviewing various control checks
- Conduct training for existing and new team members
- Should have the ability to maintain various MIS reports and should ensure timely completion of all the MIS and other ad-hoc reports to be submitted to management
- Engage in the projects assigned by Management
- Error Analysis and Error discussion with focus on reducing the errors and increasing quality scores
- Identify current and potential issue and escalate and work with manager to their resolution
- Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above role
- Employees are expected to exercise due care and diligence, ensuring the areas the incumbent is responsible for are organised and controlled
- Employees are required to observe proper standards of market, business and personal conduct, demonstrating integrity in the execution of duties
- Reports to Manager
- Be able to mentor through confidence and approachability

- Good analytical, numerical and reasoning skills
- Able to present to clients
- MS Office, word and excel proficient
- Deep understanding of process and process improvement
- Experience in designing and implementing training plans
- Strong knowledge of Financial products like Hedge funds
- Self-starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment .

- Initiative and negotiation (succeeding in passing round or over possible issues, taking a first move and acting independently, through proven long term planning)
- Candidate to have at least 9-12 years of experience in hedge fund accounting/
- Preferred:
- ACAI
- CFA
- MBA (Finance & Accounting)
- M COM
- ACCA
