We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Corporate Planning team in our Calgary head office. This position will report to the Manager, Corporate Planning. This position requires strong analytical and organizational skills along with a solid understanding of oil & gas, finance, and accounting principles. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams across the company to deliver financial modelling, capital project evaluation, and strategic analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development of the annual budget and long-term corporate plan.
- Maintain the corporate financial model, including ongoing model updates and improvements.
- Assist in the evaluation of A&D opportunities.
- Conduct financial and technical peer analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Support Asset Managers in capital project economic analysis.
- Prepare financial and operational reports for management and the Board.
- Develop and maintain the Corporate Presentation and other investor relations materials.
- Conduct financial and technical market research and collaborate with senior management across multiple functional areas to inform business planning.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree relevant to the role (business, finance, engineering, or related field).
- 2-5 years of experience in upstream energy, focused in capital markets, corporate finance, business development, or a technical role.
- Advanced financial modelling skills are essential, with demonstrated experience building and maintaining integrated financial models.
- Strong cultural fit, with excellent communication skills, independent thinking, and the ability to thrive in a small, collaborative team environment.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and key energy industry metrics.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while working effectively in a small team environment with minimal supervision.
- Progress toward or completion of a CFA, CPA, or MBA designation is considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
