MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Core Responsibilities

• Validate trade booking accuracy across T0 affirmation platforms; referencing broker confirms, electronic feeds and Order Management Systems
• Resolve mismatches, discrepancies and missing trades on T0 in collaboration with onshore teams, PMs, Traders and Counterparties
• Ensure books and records reflect the executed trade economics
• Perform daily control checks: completeness, accuracy, duplicate detection and other booking controls
• Work closely with Onshore Trade Support, Middle Office, Funds Finance, Traders and PMs
• Liaise directly with external brokers, counterparties, affirmation platforms and vendors
• Identify recurring breaks, broker patterns and propose workflow enhancements
• Support automation initiatives (Excel-based, VBA, Python, SQL, STP improvements, platform optimization)
• SME for product set and affirmation platforms, managing a combination of Junior Associates and Analysts
• Leads daily T0 control process for their asset class
• Key escalation point for onshore team, desks and counterparties
• Oversees daily control environment and ensures zero-break mentality
• Involved in new business/product onboarding, projects and testing

Asset-Class Responsibilities

• Affirming trades on T0 using Prime-Broker Affirmation Systems and Traiana Harmony
• Booking trades such as FX Spots, Forwards, Swaps, NDFs, Vanilla and Exotic Options
• Liaising with Traders and PMs to ensure non-USD cash balances are rolled in a timely manner
• Processing daily Option Expiries
• Understanding of settlement systems such as SWIFT and CLS
• Comprehension of P&L drivers such as forward points and interest rate differentials

PERSON SPECIFICATION

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in:
• Commerce (BCom)
• Business Administration (BBA/BBM)
• Economics (BA/BSc)
• Finance (BA/BSc)
• Mathematics / Statistics
• Engineering
• Related Discipline
• Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA or master's in finance/economics)
• Minimum 8 years of trade affirmation / operations experience
• Strong Excel knowledge
• Communicates effectively with excellent spoken and written English
• Escalates issues appropriately
• Ability to prioritize under pressure and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks
• Builds strong working relationships with onshore team, traders, PMs and counterparties
• Deep understanding of assigned products
• Break investigation and root-cause analysis
• Strong comprehension of trade capture workflows and trade lifecycle
• Designs workflow improvements, automation opportunities and partners with Technology

Desirable

• CFA Levels 1, 2 or 3
• Python, SQL, VBA knowledge
• Desire to learn multiple asset classes
