Head of Corporate Development

Overview
A well-capitalized principal investment platform is seeking a Head of Corporate Development to lead strategic investments, M&A, and capital initiatives across a diversified, multi-asset portfolio.

This is a senior, high-trust role focused on long-term value creation through direct investing, partnerships, and platform expansion, working closely with senior leadership and external partners.
Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Investments

1. Originate and execute direct investments, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships
2. Support investment strategy across asset classes and geographies
3. Advise senior leadership on portfolio direction

Transaction Execution

1. Lead full deal lifecycle: sourcing, diligence, structuring, negotiation, closing
2. Drive value creation with portfolio companies
3. Manage external advisors

Capital & Structuring

1. Support capital formation (co-investments, club deals, selective fundraising)
2. Engage institutional partners to source and structure opportunities
3. Contribute to investment vehicle structuring

Portfolio Oversight

1. Oversee a multi-asset portfolio (PE, real assets, public markets)
2. Drive optimization and thematic initiatives
3. Identify cross-platform synergies

Relationship Management

1. Build and manage relationships with sponsors, partners, and investors
2. Represent the platform externally with discretion

Experience

1. 12-15 years minimum in Private Equity, Investment Banking (M&A / Sponsor Coverage), or investment platforms
2. Strong track record in M&A, direct investing, and capital raising
3. Experience in fund structuring and institutional investor engagement
4. Exposure to multi-asset or flexible capital strategies

Education

1. Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
2. MBA / CFA preferred
