Description
Our client is seeking a senior leader to spearhead their change and transformation agenda for the Finance function. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and driving their finance transformation agenda at both the organisational and sector level. The role combines strategic transformation leadership with hands-on programme oversight, spanning finance operating model redesign, digitalisation, business process transformation and large-scale ERP implementation. Working in close partnership with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, the Director is instrumental in strengthening financial resilience, modernising the Finance function and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and capability development across the Company.Key Responsibilities comprise :
Finance Transformation Strategy
• Own and drive the Finance Division's transformation roadmap, translating organisational and sector-wide priorities into concrete transformation plans, initiatives and measurable outcomes.
• Direct the design and implementation of standardised finance policies, processes, and governance frameworks that enhance operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls and improve the quality and consistency of financial reporting
• Monitor emerging trends, technologies and industry practices to identify opportunities to enhance Finance's operating model and digital capabilities.
Business Process Redesign
• Lead the end-to-end review of existing finance processes, directing the identification of gaps and inefficiencies and overseeing the design of future-state operating models that are scalable, fit for purpose and aligned to sector-wide needs.
• Drive cross-functional stakeholder workshops and engagements to define business requirements, validate target processes and ensure strong alignment between business priorities and system capabilities.
Programme and Project Management
• Provide strategic oversight and accountability over the full lifecycle of finance transformation programmes, including planning, execution, testing, deployment and post-implementation review, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope and to the required standard.
• Establish and maintain robust programme governance structures, actively managing risks, issues, milestones, and interdependencies and providing clear and timely reporting to steering committees and senior leadership.
Stakeholder Management
• Build and sustain strategic partnerships with Finance, HR, Procurement and operational teams, driving alignment and securing commitment to transformation priorities across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on finance transformation matters, navigating competing priorities, influencing key decisions and representing the Finance Division's transformation agenda at the highest levels of the organisation.
Change Management
• Lead organisation-wide change management efforts to drive the successful and sustainable adoption of new finance processes, systems and ways of working across the organisation.
• Direct the development and execution of communication, training and engagement plans that build understanding and confidence among finance teams and key stakeholders throughout the transformation journey.
Competencies & Experience Required
• Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business, Economics, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA, CFA, or CPA) is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex business challenges into practical and actionable transformation strategies.
• At least 12 years of relevant experience in finance transformation, consulting, ERP implementation, operational excellence or related disciplines, including at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience leading large-scale, enterprise-wide transformation programmes is strongly preferred.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex organisational priorities into actionable transformation roadmaps, finance policies and governance frameworks.
• Proven track record in leading large-scale finance transformation programmes, with hands-on knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4HANA) and experience overseeing complex, sector-wide implementations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to build alignment, manage competing priorities and drive consensus across diverse and senior stakeholder groups.
