OverviewFred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Diagnostic Imaging Manager provides leadership, operational oversight, and administrative management for assigned imaging services. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality, efficient patient care delivery while optimizing resources, standardizing workflows, and maintaining regulatory compliance. This role leads department operations and may directly oversee frontline staff and daily workflows. The Manager collaborates with Medical Directors, Clinical Leadership, Business Operations, and Research teams to develop and execute strategic, operational, and quality initiatives, while directly supervising staff and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and patient-centered care.
This position will be 1.0FTE/full-time Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational oversight of assigned imaging department(s)
- Ensure efficient throughput, patient access, and service excellence
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies, workflows, and procedures
- Collaborate across departments to improve clinical operations
- Partner with research teams to integrate clinical trials and research imaging protocols into daily operations, ensuring alignment with workflow, compliance, and patient care standards
- Support strategic planning and program growth
- Manage budgets, staffing models, and resource allocation
- Recruit, develop, and lead staff
- Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance
- Lead quality and process improvement initiatives
- Monitor KPIs and implement performance improvements
- Serve as liaison with leadership, physicians, and research stakeholders
- Directly manage daily operations and staff supervision
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a technologist in a clinical setting.
- Minimum 1-3 years as lead technologist or in a leadership role in healthcare
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) licensure, or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) licensure or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
- Washington State Radiologic Technologist certification as required by primary license
- Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card
- Leadership and operational management experience
- Imaging operations management expertise
- Knowledge of imaging workflows and regulatory standards
- Financial and budget management skills
- Data analysis and performance improvement
- Strong communication and decision-making
- Ability to manage complex priorities
Preferred:
- Master's degree (MSN, MHA, MBA, or related field).
- Proven success in quality improvement, operational transformation, and staff engagement initiatives.
- Previous experience in research related imaging programs
- Previous experience in building capacity to meet timely patient access needs
The annual base salary range for this position is from $142,251.20 to $237,057.60, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
