Description
DescriptionAbout Alvarez & Marsal
Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm with entrepreneurial, action- and results-oriented professionals. We take a hands-on approach to solving our clients' problems and helping them reach their potential. A&M is different by design: we give people ownership and impact from day one, fuel development through real opportunity, and provide direct access to leaders who invest in our growth. Our culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who positively impact clients and shape our industry. Guided by A&M's core values of Integrity, Quality, Objectivity, Fun, Personal Reward, and Inclusive Diversity, our collaborative, globally minded environment is why our people love working at A&M.
The Team
As a Crypto Associate, you will have the opportunity to work alongside professionals recognized as authorities across the digital asset ecosystem, and with the guidance of experienced practitioners, you will help clients manage risk, underwrite opportunities, and create value across one of the fastest-moving sectors in the market.
How you will contribute
You will work closely with companies, investors, and counterparties across the digital asset ecosystem, spanning risk, underwriting, business intelligence, revenue enhancement, strategy, and operational and financial diligence, with select engagements involving the restructuring of crypto-native businesses.
We advise across the full lifecycle of digital asset engagements, from diligence and underwriting, to risk assessment, to strategy and performance improvement, providing you with a wide range of experiences and projects. Working with clear direction from senior team members, you will apply your analytical skills and understanding of finance, markets, and the crypto ecosystem to defined analyses and project tasks. You will be responsible for producing accurate, thoughtful work that supports broader workstreams and client deliverables. Your involvement with these projects will typically include:
- Conducting defined operational and financial due diligence analyses on digital asset businesses, counterparties, and transactions.
- Building financial models and analyses to support underwriting, risk assessment, and investment or credit decisions, with guidance and review from senior team members.
- Developing business intelligence and market analysis across protocols, tokens, exchanges, and other ecosystem participants.
- Analyzing data and supporting the identification of revenue enhancement and performance improvement opportunities for clients.
- Supporting strategy engagements through defined analyses related to market entry, product assessment, and operating model design.
- Contributing analyses to restructuring and turnaround work for distressed crypto-native businesses, where such engagements arise.
- Supporting business development by assisting with research, analysis, and pitch and proposal preparation.
- Owning discrete analyses and deliverables within a project workstream, incorporating feedback from senior team members before work is shared externally.
At A&M you will have the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile engagements in the digital asset industry. You will work alongside senior management and experienced A&M professionals from a variety of backgrounds who bring significant industry depth and knowledge. You will be expected to manage assigned priorities, respond to clear direction, proactively communicate with your team, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, deeply collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of work experience in investment or commercial banking, consulting, or a corporate role with a financial or analytical focus.
- BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or other related analytical fields.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills a must.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or demonstrated progress toward such certifications, preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in digital assets and the broader crypto ecosystem, through either prior professional experience or personal involvement in the space (for example, active participation as a hobbyist).
- Familiarity with restructuring or Chapter 11 concepts is a plus, given select distressed crypto-native engagements.
- Strong financial modeling skills, including experience building and working with 3-statement financial models; experience with 13-week cash flow forecasts is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate analyses, findings, and questions to project teams and contribute effectively in client interactions.
- Commitment to living A&M's cultural values: integrity, leadership, objectivity, inclusive diversity, and fun.
- Team player who can excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
At A&M, professional growth is tied directly to performance, not tenure. Our people take on meaningful, hands-on work supported by a performance development process that rewards contribution and fosters a culture of meritocracy. Stretch roles, evolving business needs, and firm growth create ongoing opportunities for ownership and building new skills, while direct access to senior leaders provides mentorship and real-time coaching along the way. We also prioritize your wellbeing through comprehensive benefits and resources. Together, these elements create an environment where high-performing professionals can continue to grow and advance from day one.
Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined periodically as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The amount of vacation and personal days available varies based on tenure and role type. Click here for more information regarding A&M's benefits programs.
The salary range is $125,000 - $145,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
