Job Title: Assistant Vice President - Investment Funds Oversight

As part of the Investment Funds Oversight function, you will be involved in the operation of the Prudential onshore unit-linked funds, including the controls framework, change programmes and pricing oversight. Oversight of our third-party pricing agent including daily price checks, periodic monitoring, handling of pricing errors, and liaising with TPA on any element of their work for M&G in relation to the Prudential funds.

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
This role involves applying strong numerical and analytical skills, and previous practical experience in the UK financial services industry is essential, particularly with unit-linked funds. Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the daily operation of unit-linked funds, across different systems and operating models, including review and approval of trades and internal/external cash transfers.
• Analysis and production of unit-linked fund data.
• Operation & & enhancing the controls framework.
• Identification of risks & issues that may impact M&G, its customers, or its stakeholders.
• Handling complex processes, and suggesting improvements, or helping design new solutions to meet business objectives.
• Coordinating pricing error work.
• Overseeing complex reconciliations in pControl, and in supporting Excel workbooks.
• Investigating issues and handling complex queries, through to resolution.
• Disseminating quality information to internal stakeholders.
• Maintaining good working relationships with various internal stakeholders, including other teams within Asset Management Operations, Finance and the M&G Life business.
• Providing technical advice to support planning and decision making.
• Knowledge/use of pControl, including cash allocation and NAV oversight.
• Supporting the oversight of key suppliers reviewing KPIs, attending service review meetings, etc.
• Ensuring the smooth and controlled implementation of change, providing SME support for project work (including fund changes such as launches/closures, and fund/asset transitions) and ensuring that team members affected by any changes are kept informed/receive appropriate training.
• Maintaining the knowledge and skillset required for the role.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification
Must-Have Skills:

• Previous experience of performing or overseeing fund pricing, with a good understanding of NAV components.
• Experience of different fund and asset types, and of valuation methodologies.
• Ability to balance technical requirements and commercial needs when exercising judgement.
• Good knowledge of UK regulatory & legislative requirements.
• Good understanding of financial services products, markets and competitors.
• Working knowledge of different systems and control frameworks.
• Good understanding of external developments and how this can improve processes and controls.
• Strong analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience of disseminating complex information to internal and external stakeholders in a way that is clear and easily understood.
• Experience of providing guidance and advice to the business on fund accounting issues.
• Experience of helping to manage third party relationships.
• Adapts easily to change, and provides positive role model to others, taking an active lead in helping the team understand how their work contributes to the priorities of the business.

Experience:

• 10-15 years of experience in financial services. Min 8 years of experience in Fund accounting oversight and supervisory or managerial role.

Educational Qualification:

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CA, MBA Finance) are a plus.
• Relevant IOC or Investment Management qualification / Certification would be desirable.
• Investment management or fund accounting qualification ideal, or otherwise qualified by significant relevant experience.
