Description
Our client, a well-established Asian corporate bank with a strong regional footprint, is expanding its Singapore platform and seeking a seasoned banker to join their Corporate Banking Division. This is a rare opportunity to cover some of Singapore's most significant government-linked corporations (GLCs) and large local corporates, while playing a strategic role in driving the next phase of growth.The role offers not only a dynamic client coverage mandate but also clear visibility on future leadership progression within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of large local corporates (GLCs) with a focus on deepening existing relationships and originating new business opportunities.
- Drive financing solutions across corporate lending, project and structured finance, syndicated loans, trade and cash solutions, as well as capital markets products.
- Originate and structure complex transactions to support clients' strategic initiatives, including M&A financing, infrastructure, and overseas expansion.
- Partner closely with product teams (Global Markets, Transaction Banking, Investment Banking) to deliver integrated solutions to clients.
- Monitor credit exposure and ensure portfolio quality through proactive risk management.
- Prepare credit applications, financial analysis, and presentations for internal approval.
- Represent the bank in building long-term, trusted partnerships with key decision makers at board and C-suite level.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior relationship managers within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications (CFA, MBA) are advantageous.
- 12-18 years of relevant corporate banking experience, with proven expertise in managing and growing GLC or large local corporate clients.
- Strong origination track record with demonstrated ability to structure and execute large-ticket financings.
- Excellent knowledge of corporate banking products including loans, trade, cash, and capital markets.
- Solid credit analysis and risk management skills.
- Established network within Singapore's large corporate/GLC landscape.
- Leadership potential with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
