As a Senior Program Manager, Lastmile planning, you will be the single-threaded owner of last mile planning and execution for AMXL JP, a role where your strategic vision will directly impact how we deliver large items to millions of customers across Japan. As the driving force behind our last mile network evolution, you'll architect and execute the mid-to-long-term planning strategy that balances optimal productivity, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. This isn't just about managing a network-it's about building the foundation for AMXL JP's expansion while establishing best-in-class cost structures that set the standard for the region.
Key job responsibilities
Network Strategy & Planning
• Own mid-to-long-term last mile network planning for AMXL JP, developing roadmaps that balance productivity, cost efficiency, and operational excellence
• Drive multiple strategic initiatives to optimize network topology, capacity allocation, and delivery infrastructure across Japan
Network Optimization & Performance
• Build and maintain a cost-effective, operationally friendly network through continuous analysis and optimization
• Establish plan-versus-actual tracking mechanisms to monitor performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions
Tool Implementation & Capability Building
• Champion implementation of advanced planning tools and systems that enhance forecasting accuracy and operational decision-making
• Improve planning capabilities by introducing new methodologies, automation, and data-driven approaches
Stakeholder Management & Execution
• Serve as single-threaded owner for all last mile planning decisions and execution activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network strategy with organizational objectives and present recommendations to senior leadership

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) JP team is a single threaded organization that owns Amazon's end-to-end Heavy & Bulky (H&B) logistics network with our willing and equally customer obsessed partners, offering shipping, service & support for consumers and companies in a safe, reliable, seamless, standardized, and sustainable way that surprises and delights our customers. Our delivery partners are experienced in H&B deliveries, providing special handling services such as Room of Choice Delivery, Installation/Assembly and Recycling/Haul-Away.
Our team is made up of a diverse group of individuals across operations, supply chain, tech, finance, planning, customer experience, business intelligence and program management that work closely and collaboratively across Amazon to constantly improve and scale our operations, always insisting on the highest standards and obsessing over delivering bigger smiles for our customers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of Business strategy or Non-Tech Program Management experience
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience in Business English skills, both verbal and written
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
