We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join our Financial Research group based in Hyderabad. This role will involve working directly with the Litigation Investing Group, a front-office group that focuses on private financings backed by litigation claims. The candidate will work closely with the Litigation Investing Group to provide high-quality, in-depth support for research, underwriting, and investment decision processes, and will help to create and oversee asset management for the group’s global investment portfolio.
WHAT YOU WILL DO DAY-TO-DAY
In this role, you will create and maintain databases to track and analyze the status and outcome of claims in various litigations, including preparation of monthly or quarterly summaries of claims and portfolio values. You will participate in monthly/quarterly calls with counterparties to gather information and stay current on the portfolio. You will also project and maintain cash flow forecasts for valuation and pricing, which will involve collaboration with multiple teams within the firm. Additionally, you will confirm that requested fundings are consistent with documented deployment schedules and underwriting expectations and collaborate with the firm’s legal team to ensure compliance with confidentiality policies and disclosure guidelines. You will also provide underwriting assistance by reviewing the accuracy and completeness of information provided by law firms in the engagement letters, co-counsel agreements, client intake forms, etc. Furthermore, you will have ad hoc responsibilities such as gathering and analyzing public data relevant to potential litigation investments and helping track the group’s pipeline and deal-intake statistics.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate should hold-
Basic qualifications:
- A degree in finance or equivalent (MBA/CFA/CA), with 3 to 8 years of experience in financial modelling, loan underwriting, data management, or portfolio monitoring within the litigation finance, structured credit, or asset management domains
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent quantitative skills, analytical prowess, and keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Self-motivation and an exceptional ability to work independently
