We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.
Job overview and responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis role is responsible for providing key insights including trends, opportunities, risks, and
concerns. This manager will be part of the Financial Planning and Analysis organization in a high impact role designed to help drive cost improvements throughout the enterprise. This position will provide the manager with an opportunity to make a real impact to the business.
- Lead a team of (up to 7) finance analysts
- Partner with Operations and Commercial teams to drive continuous improvement in financial and operational performance
- Be a consultant to business stakeholders - provide in-depth analyses, develop business cases and recommendations for innovations to address business opportunities
- Oversee financial planning processes including close and forecast
- Manage projects ensuring quality, timeliness and effectiveness of analysis and solutions
- Advanced analytical skills and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture
- Participate in hiring and training activities for team
- Create cost awareness and help foster sensible cost management throughout the business through reporting and analysis
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.
Unless subject to a collective bargaining agreement in the country to which an employee is being transferred; the employee retains their original date of employment and company seniority in the new country. Upon transfer, the employee is removed from payroll and benefits in former country and appropriately placed in the salary range and payroll / benefits systems of the new country.
Human Resources will assist with the terms and conditions of employment in light of labor agreements, collective agreements, country work rules and labor laws. In the new country, the employee is reinstated using the same employee id, date of employment and company seniority dates.
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- MBA (Masters in Business Administration) from a premium Indian institution (IIM/ISB/MDI) or International
- Equivalent
- 6-8 years in a finance related field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Strong communication/interpersonal skills
- Proven experience managing multiple projects effectively required
- Experience in building, motivating and coaching teams
- Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
- Must be fluent in English and Hindi (written and spoken)
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- In depth knowledge of accounting and financial statements
- Prior Hyperion Planning experience
- Previous experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Spotfire and Oracle OBIEE Experience
- Prior Leadership experience
