Our culture in Risk Management and Compliance is all about thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo and striving to be best-in-class.As a Compliance & Operational Risk Lead Vice President within the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk organization, you will support digital asset initiatives within Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Payments. In this role, you will help guide how the firm responsibly develops and implements blockchain-enabled financial capabilities while navigating a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.
You will work at the intersection of payments innovation, regulatory strategy, and risk management, partnering closely with product, engineering, legal, and risk teams across CCB, Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), and other enterprise partners as new digital asset capabilities are explored and developed. You will engage with teams building and evaluating real blockchain-enabled payment infrastructure and digital asset capabilities.
These initiatives span a range of emerging technologies, including blockchain-enabled payments, tokenized deposits, stablecoins, and other digital asset infrastructure. You will play an important role in helping teams evaluate regulatory and operational risks, supporting governance processes, and providing advisory as the firm develops capabilities in this evolving space.
In this role, you will need to understand digital asset technologies and the regulatory landscape affecting them, and who can translate complex technical and regulatory issues into clear insights for cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide compliance and operational risk advisory for digital asset initiatives within CCB Payments, including blockchain-enabled payments, tokenized deposits, stablecoins, and related digital asset infrastructure.
• Support risk assessments and governance processes for emerging initiatives, helping teams evaluate regulatory expectations, operational risks, and consumer protection considerations.
• Monitor and interpret developments in the digital asset regulatory landscape, including legislation such as the Market Clarity Act, the GENIUS Act, and other applicable regulatory and supervisory frameworks.
• Translate regulatory developments and technical concepts into practical guidance for product teams and leadership as digital asset initiatives are designed and implemented.
• Partner with stakeholders across CCB Payments, CIB digital asset teams, Legal, Technology, Risk, and Control functions to support responsible innovation and effective risk management.
• Communicate complex digital asset and regulatory topics clearly to senior leadership and governance forums.
• Contribute to broader advocacy and advisory work related to digital asset initiatives as the regulatory environment continues to evolve.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
• Strong understanding of digital asset technologies and infrastructure, including blockchain networks, crypto wallets, stablecoins, deposit tokens, tokenized deposits, and blockchain-enabled payment systems.
• Experience working on digital asset, fintech, payments, or blockchain-related initiatives within a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of the U.S. regulatory landscape related to digital assets, including relevant legislation, regulatory guidance, and supervisory expectations.
• Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory topics into clear and practical insights for business and leadership audiences.
• Experience working cross-functionally with product, legal, risk, technology, and control partners.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership.
• Hands-on familiarity with how digital asset ecosystems operate in practice, including blockchain networks, wallet infrastructure, tokenized deposits, and stablecoin architectures.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
• Experience supporting digital asset initiatives within a financial institution, fintech, or blockchain infrastructure company.
• Familiarity with bank regulatory frameworks and risk management processes impacting digital asset and payments initiatives.
• Experience supporting new product approvals, risk assessments, or governance processes related to emerging technologies.
