Description
SkyWater Search Partners is excited to partner with a $1B AUM leading Broker/Dealer and Investment Advisor to find a new strategic and entrepreneurial Chief Operating Officer.
This executive will be responsible for strategically managing the firm's operations and technology, providing strong and effective leadership to a dedicated team and ensuring success and growth of the organization. The firm has acquired two other B/Ds over the past three years and will continue to look for accretive acquisition to enhance the firm's portfolio.
This person will play a key defining role in implementing an operations and technology strategy.
This role requires an entrepreneurial spirit, competitive drive with active engagement and an appetite for change.
This role will be based in the Twin Cities with an onsite presence required.
Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and growing operational and technology functions within a small to medium sized organization.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capability to set clear direction, inspire, and motivate teams and build an inclusive and collaborative work environment; demonstrated experience developing and implementing operational strategies that drive organizational growth and success.
- Proven experience in driving operational efficiencies, process improvements, and implementing best practices; strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute complex initiatives within agreed timelines.
- Deep knowledge/experience in project management skills.
- Understanding/experience in fintech opportunities and integration.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders; strong ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences in a clear, concise manner.
- Have operated in the independent broker/dealer space, with preference towards candidates who have hybrid IBD/RIA operational experience. Have an entrepreneurial spirit.

- Spotless compliance history.
- Experience engaging directly with clearing platforms/offerings and organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred; FINRA S 24 required/within 90 days of hire; proven leadership experience as COO or a similar role within the broker dealer industry; FINRA S 65, 66, and/or 99 preferred
