The Opportunity
This is a unique chance to own and lead the identification and articulation of business requirements for AustralianSuper's International Offices (IO) projects and change initiatives. As a Business Analyst - Manager, you'll provide in-house expertise in requirements engineering, operational impact assessments, process and data modelling, and more-ensuring the successful delivery of strategic projects and change initiatives.
You'll work with a wide range of stakeholders across both our International and Australian offices, collaborating with business and functional teams at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Requirements Engineering: Lead project workstreams to create high-quality business requirements for projects and change initiatives. Use a variety of tools and techniques (e.g., root cause analysis, user story mapping, process mapping, value stream mapping, wireframes).
- Operational Impact Assessments: Analyse processes, data, systems, and organisational design to assess the impact of change initiatives on IO's operating model.
- Process Modelling: Document current and target state processes using standardised Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN). Facilitate workshops and interviews to model complex processes.
- Data Modelling: Lead research and documentation of data models to address data issues and enable high-quality project design decisions.
- Project-Related Analysis: Structure and deliver analysis to facilitate decision-making for change delivery.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering excellent outcomes.
- Experience: Extensive experience as a business analyst, with responsibility for leading workstreams on high-complexity/large-scale projects and programmes, ideally within asset management.
- Sector Knowledge: Experience in technology vendor implementation (SAAS), portfolio management/trading/investment capability set up, regulatory change (e.g., FCA compliance), and operating model/capability set up.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to apply and tailor business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques. Skilled in requirements documentation (user stories, use cases, prototypes/wireframes), process and data modelling.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong facilitation and workshopping skills. Able to communicate complex concepts clearly at all levels and influence stakeholders.
- Analytical Mindset: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and root cause identification skills.
- Team Player: Collaborative, flexible, decisive, and proactive, with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Qualifications: Professional Business Analysis or similar qualification (e.g., BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis essential). Postgraduate degree in project management or business school subject, or tertiary professional business qualifications (MBA, CFA, ACCA, CIMA) are desirable.
