Our facilities include clinical space, digital radiography, ultrasound, physical therapy, certified hand therapy, MRI, DME, and two beautiful, state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery centers.
BCOS is seeking an experienced and operationally grounded CEO to serve as the primary strategic and operational leader of a well-established orthopedic specialty practice. Reporting directly to the President of the Board of Directors, this role partners closely with physician shareholders to drive financial performance, organizational health, and long-term growth. Occasional evening and weekend work and some travel.
Wage: $223,000-$305,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Leadership
Build and sustain a collaborative, accountable culture with a shared vision for the future

Represent the organization in relationships with other health organizations, government agencies, and third-party payers
Serve as the primary liaison between the Board, its committees, and the medical and administrative staff
Continuously monitor operations and initiate improvements as needed.
Financial Management
Oversee all budgeting, accounting, purchasing, auditing, and long-range financial forecasting
Evaluate and report on the organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth on a regular basis
Develop and implement financial policies and ensure organizational compliance
Ensure payer contracts and reimbursement rates reflect current market, service quality, and physician expertise
Oversee preparation of annual tax filings, financial reports, and all state and federal reporting requirements
Manage the physician compensation plan and ensure all insurance coverages are current and adequate
Strategy & Corporate Oversight
In collaboration with physician shareholders, develop and execute short and long-range strategic plans
Identify and pursue opportunities to grow market share through partnerships, affiliations, and growth strategies
Manage and maintain legal, accounting, and other professional relationships
Ensure compliance with all bylaws and operating agreements for BCOS and its affiliates
Actively participate in orthopedic societies and associations at the local and national level.
Board & Governance
Develop Board agendas and meeting packets in conjunction with the President of the Board
Attend and present at all Board and shareholder meetings
Prepare and distribute Board meeting minutes for timely approval
File all required annual reports with the Colorado Secretary of State
Physician Recruitment & Retention
Lead efforts to recruit and retain surgeons in alignment with the organization's growth strategy
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Health Administration or MBA preferred
- 7+ years of executive-level experience
- 5+ years managing a specialty or multispecialty practice of similar size and structure
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare finance and payer contract negotiation
- Strong knowledge of the competitive managed care market and healthcare regulatory environment
Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this position are representative of a standard administrative and leadership role. Chief Executive Officer, which involves 90 percent sitting and 10 percent walking, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds and stooping. Works under stress.
