This position is responsible for leadership and management of a group of Tooling Engineers and Tool Room Operation. The position is based in Tijuana, Mexico. The position will be responsible for the molds maintenance and repair and will lead efforts to improve their condition.
Responsibilities
The position will improve processes, lead and participate in projects, recruit and supervise engineers and technicians as well as assign personnel to achieve company objectives. This person will coordinate with internal and external users of our injection molds to jointly find the best solutions to improve mold’s reliability and condition of our molds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
S. degree in an engineering discipline
Experience in Molding Operations.
Experience with Molds.
Ability to provide effective leadership (technical and otherwise)
Ability to motivate individuals to high levels of performance and accomplishment.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, both as a leader/facilitator and a participant
Ability to effectively interview candidates and select the best talent.
Knowledge of quality improvement and lean manufacturing methods.
Well organized, enthusiastic, high energy, and strong work ethic.
Ability to travel including international locations.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
8+ years of related experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in engineering or MBA.
Experience with plastic injection tooling and molding.
Creative, able to think "out of the box."
Experience with FMEA, DOE, and process capability studies.
Knowledge of CAD, preferably SolidWorks
Knowledge of injection molded plastic component design, plastics processing, and mold tool design.
