Chairman of the Department of Cardiology Catholic Health West Islip, New York
Catholic Health is seeking a Chairman of the Department of Cardiology at Good Samaritan University Hospital that is board-certified by an accrediting agency approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Osteopathic equivalent. Catholic Health is a fully integrated health system serving the communities of Long Island, NY. Comprised of 6 hospitals, 3 long term care facilities, a Home Care and Hospice agency, and a program for developmentally disabled individuals, CH has over 17,000 employees and an operating budget in excess of $3B. Our physician network has grown to more than 3,100 physicians.
The ideal candidate will be well trained in all aspects of cardiology and have excellent interpersonal skills.As integral members of our Division of Cardiology, you will participate in the clinical care of patients with cardiac disease and be responsible for carrying out the policies of the Department of Cardiology.Collaborate with colleagues, departments and services at the hospital to promote a culture of patient safety, improve patient throughput, and participate in performance improvement. The Department Chairman, as a member of the Hospital’s Medical Board, in accordance with the wishes and under the direction of the Chairman of Catholic Health Cardiology Service Line, shall give guidance on the overall medical policy of the Hospital and make specific recommendations and suggestions regarding the Department to ensure high quality patient care.
Requirements:
This role will have 40% Administration and 60% Clinical time
Minimum of 15 Years of clinical practice and departmental leadership experience in a health care organization or network
Board-Certified in Clinical Cardiology and fellowship trained
Advanced degree such as MHA, MBA or Doctoral degree recommended but not required
NYS Licensed MD/DO
Active DEA License
Strong Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization
Salary Range: $830,295-$1,611,068K
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, training, skills, licensure and certification, competencies and other relevant experience. The salary range listed does not include any bonuses or incentive pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
