Federated Hermes, Inc., one of the nation’s largest investment managers with over $871.2 billion assets under management has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Equity Investment Analyst to join our Multi Asset/Balanced Income team at our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania headquarters. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced analyst to cover the industrial and materials sectors. The successful candidate will leverage comprehensive knowledge of and experience in the industrial sector and a proven track record of strong performance to make significant contributions to the team.
Position Specifications:
- Bachelor degree required; MBA or CFA preferred
- Minimum of six years of investment experience as an Equity Analyst required
- Experience leading/mentoring junior analysts helpful
- Comprehensive, in-depth equity analysis experience in the industrial sector required; Experience in the materials sector helpful
- Excellent research knowledge, analysis and decision-making skills required
- Proven track record of strong performance and proven judgment in the field of securities analysis required
- Broad knowledge of macro/industry data related to the Industrial sector required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, Bloomberg/Factset required
Major Duties:
- Interview management of companies, meet with Wall Street analysts, initiate, perform, and maintain in-depth research and analysis of stocks within the Industrial and Materials sectors as well as other sectors as needed to provide detailed recommendations to the Portfolio Managers. The investment analysis will include financial statement analysis, financial modeling, comparable company analysis as well as assessment of industry, currency, political, and macroeconomic trends.
- Utilize analysis to formulate investment ideas and clearly articulate (verbal and written) to portfolio managers for inclusion in portfolios. This includes generating and diligently communicating value-added buy, sell, and hold recommendations in a written and standardized format on individual securities and other information relevant to the portfolio.
- Stay current on industry trends, new technologies, regulatory changes, and company specific issues. Sources include, but not limited to, industry conferences/seminars, industry publications, public documents, trade journals, C-Suite management interviews, and Wall Street analysts.
- Review analyst, company, and industry reports and participate on earnings calls.
- Participate in investment meetings within the firm.
