Description
The Senior Associate Dean of Clinical Systems serves as the School of Dentistry’s senior clinical leader, responsible for setting the strategic direction, governance, and overall performance of the clinical enterprise. Reporting to the Dean, this role ensures alignment between the School of Dentistry’s clinical operations and OHSU Health’s strategic goals while advancing excellence in patient care, dental education, accreditation, compliance, and innovation. The position provides executive oversight of predoctoral and postdoctoral clinical systems through a team of senior leaders and is accountable for enterprise-wide clinical standards, quality and patient safety, operational effectiveness, financial stewardship, and stakeholder engagement. Success is measured through achievement of strategic initiatives, accreditation outcomes, patient access and quality metrics, financial performance, and organizational leadership effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include:
- leading long-term clinical strategy and transformation efforts
- overseeing compliance and accreditation activities
- managing quality assurance and risk management programs
- governing clinical technology and EHR systems
- ensuring efficient and effective patient care delivery across all School of Dentistry clinical sites
- final authority for clinical budgeting, resource allocation, and initiatives that support financial sustainability and growth

Requirements
- DDS, DMD or equivalent AND MBA or master's in health administration
- Oregon Dental License or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Substantial leadership experience (>5 yeas) in academic dentistry OR a complex healthcare/clinical system
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role in the academic environment at a dental school such as department chair, division head, assistant dean OR equivalent senior leadership roles in industry.
- Strong operations management and organizational development experience

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC/EPIC Wisdom and or axiUm-EPIC migration
